HOW TO VOTE: If you are an eligible voter, you should have received an email with the subject “OpenStack Foundation – 2015 Individual Director Election”from [email protected]. This email includes your unique voting link. If you did not receive an email, please contact [email protected].
If you are an active member of the OpenStack Foundation, you should have received an email in your inbox with a link to vote for renewal of the Board of Directors and to change the Foundation’s bylaws. The changes to the bylaws make this election different from others and require your vote.
During 2014, the OpenStack community created several revisions of the Bylaws as part of the process to define what makes up core OpenStack functionality. The proposed revisions to the Bylaws are meant to provide flexibility in determining the software required for use of the OpenStack trademarks. The revisions also permit the adoption of the “DefCore” procedures and any changes to those procedures in the future. These amendments have already gone through fifteen revisions with comments from the Technical Committee, DefCore Committee, OpenStack Foundation management, Legal Affairs Committee and the Board of Directors.
Now it’s your turn: the change to the bylaws require that least 25% of the eligible voters cast a vote. If the quorum is not reached, the bylaws won’t change and the work of the Foundation will be more complicated.
