Using the Openstack Requirements Process to Manage Dependencies in Large Projects
Managing python dependencies in large deployments can be tough. Keeping them up to date and not breaking projects when you update any given dependency is even more tough. In this talk I will lead you through the method Openstack uses to manage dependencies while ensuring coinstallability and keeping breakage to a minimum when updating them. Much of this work is CI related. I will explain reasoning behind decisions as they come up.
What can I expect to learn?
Attendees should expect to learn how the Openstack requirements process can be used to manage dependencies in a large and diverse set of projects. They will learn the methods and the reasons behind the decisions we made in order to aid the attendee in managing their own projects.
