Bio
Ian Y. Choi has a background in Computer Science and has made contributions to OpenStack in the areas of I18n, Documentation, and related aspects as an individual volunteer for years. He served I18n PTL during the Ocata, Pike, and Train cycles, and following a governance change, has taken a leading role in I18n SIG. Additionally, he actively organized and coordinated as OpenStack Korea user group leader starting in 2017-2019. His involvement as an organizer and leader in the OpenStack Korea user group, coupled with his previous Microsoft MVP activities in Cloud and Datacenter Management from July 2016 to October 2018, allowed him to engage with diverse members of the open source and developer communities, encompassing OpenStack and Kubernetes. Professionally, he's focused on leveraging technology to drive business growth, having held roles as a developer, product marketing manager (focused on developers), and in partner channel sales, particularly for small and medium-sized companies, both at Microsoft and in local startups based in Korea and the Asia Pacific region.
