Deploy It Like You Mean It: Committing to Continuous Delivery with Jenkins Pipeline in OpenStack

Here’s where you’re at: You’ve got a pretty good automated software delivery system in place, but wonder if it could be improved. Maybe you’ve even heard of Jenkins Pipeline already, but don’t know if it’s right for you.

Why I’m here: I want to share the joys and pains of transforming our standard deployment methods into beautiful, efficient pipelines. After spending too long being complacent with existing and lacking deployment automation, we’ve finally taken the steps to change for the better.

Focus Areas:

  • Benefits: Efficiency, decreased deployment time, versatility.
  • Obstacles: Converting code, time investment, plugins & version upgrades.
  • Conversion: Steps for making the change from an existing code base.
  • Advice: Best practices and things to watch out for.

What can I expect to learn?

Learn how Jenkins Pipeline could transform your continuous delivery system. In this session, we'll identify use cases and key steps to implement conversion. Attendees will take away the benefits of Jenkins Pipeline as well as stories of obstacles encountered first-hand.
