Madrid, Spain, October 17, 2016 - OW2, the global community for open source infrastructure software, launches a campaign to attract open source software for free distribution on the AppHub cloud-oriented self-service deployment platform at CloudForward, October 18-20, in Madrid, and at the OpenStack Summit, October 24-28, in Barcelona.
Open source software producers and European R&D collaborative projects attending these events are invited to create their own deployable templates on the AppHub platform and validate their participation at the OW2 booth for a chance to win a digital watch.
The AppHub marketplace already showcases some 100 projects and 30 open source ready-to-deploy software. The platform is designed and operated by Fraunhofer FOKUS, UShareSoft and OW2. It combines software quality best practices and machine image automation so as to offer a free and convenient distribution channel. AppHub is made of the following integrated components:
All open-source end-users, producers and cloud service providers are welcome to try AppHub and to give their feedback now. Feel free to interact with the AppHub team at CloudForward in Madrid or at OpenStack Summit in Barcelona.
As of January 1st, 2017, AppHub will become the cloud-oriented self-service deployment platform for the OW2 community. The sustainable marketplace will continue to grow with the OW2 open source code base, international software and services.
