Midokura Achieves Certification with Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform 8

RED HAT SUMMIT, SAN FRANCISCO – June 28, 2016 – Midokura, the global innovator in software network virtualization, today announced its Midokura Enterprise MidoNet (MEM) network virtualization technology has achieved certification with Red Hat OpenStack Platform 8. Now, users can leverage the power of MEM with the latest release from Red Hat, designed to support the OpenStack community “Liberty” release.

“The strength of Red Hat OpenStack Platform lies in joint engineering with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and the robust ecosystem of certified networking solutions,” said Dan Mihai Dumitriu, CEO and co-founder of Midokura. “We are pleased to continue our close work with Red Hat and the OpenStack Networking (Neutron) core team to drive requirements from enterprises and web services companies into our joint solutions.”

Midokura’s MEM technology offers an intelligent, software-based network abstraction layer between the hosts and the physical network, by decoupling the IaaS cloud from the network hardware. In turn, operators can build isolated networks in software to overlay the existing hardware-based network infrastructure. The open source version of its core MidoNet technology is quickly gaining in popularity among organizations of all sizes in more 120 countries.

The news follows on the heels of Midokura’s announcement of $20.4 million in Series B funding earlier this month. Midokura continues to be the trusted network virtualization vendor of choice for large-scale OpenStack deployments for leading organizations, including Ancestry.com, Blue Jeans Network, Overstock.com and Puppet.

“We’re delighted by MidoNet’s certification with Red Hat OpenStack Platform 8,” said Radhesh Balakrishnan, general manager, OpenStack, Red Hat. “MidoNet’s open source networking tools complement Red Hat’s open, cloud platform and allow more end-users to experience the value of these platform and network virtualization solutions.”

Midokura is a proud participant of the Red Hat Connect for Technology Partners program, which connects business and technical resources to third-party technology companies who are aligning with Red Hat’s OpenStack product offerings.
