Array has developed a Load Balancing-as-a-Service (LBaaS) driver for OpenStack’s network service (Neutron) that allows management of application delivery controllers from OpenStack’s Dashboard (Horizon). The driver allows management of multiple physical or virtual application delivery controllers in the same ecosystem, and supports clustering for high availability. No additional central management appliance is required, reducing management and operations overhead. The architecture is cloud-portable, and allows easy integration with OpenStack and other cloud platforms. In addition, the Array driver allows on-demand scaling of virtual application delivery controller instances through out-of-band communication that is not dependent on the networking component of OpenStack.
