Bio

2017, I joined China Telecom and have been working on Cloud & Network infrastructure products since then. In the past years, I used to led a team to design and develop VIM products based on OpenStack and ETSI MANO specifications; and participated in design China Telecom's NFV three-layer decoupling scheme and implemented multiple projects such as 5GC, vIMS, and vBRAS. Our CT Cloud based on OpenStack have been deployed in 31 provinces and maintain upgrading with new Cloud & Network technologies. I believe it is precisely the mutual promotion with the open source community that has helped the industry to grow rapidly.

Since 2017, I have focused exclusively on OpenStack-based product development, and currently lead a team building China Telecom’s cloud-network infrastructure powered by OpenInfra technologies. OpenInfra provides developers with robust tools to build and manage private clouds—tools we have deployed across 31 provinces, advocated for as industry standards, and leveraged to engage more users and developers in contributing feedback to the open source community. Its success is personally and professionally meaningful because open source fosters innovation, reduces fragmentation, and drives technological accessibility—foundations that underpin the digital transformation of enterprises and nations alike. My greatest contribution lies in bridging the gap between enterprise implementation and community collaboration: by scaling OpenInfra-adjacent solutions to millions of users and feeding real-world deployment insights back to the community, I have helped refine standards and enhance the practical applicability of OpenStack and OpenInfra technologies.

In my past year as a board member, I championed the company’s research into open-source infrastructure software and spearheaded the adoption of open-source technologies in next-generation metro networks, which integrate fixed-mobile convergence (FMC) and cloud-network integration (CNI).

Serving as a board member requires strategic leadership, decision-making acumen, and cross-stakeholder collaboration—skills I have honed through various roles. For instance, when organizing industry forums on behalf of China Telecom, I participated in strategic planning, managed operational workflows, and collaborated with volunteers and partners to deliver high-impact events. Additionally, over five years as China Telecom’s primary liaison with the OpenStack/OpenInfra Foundation, I gained extensive experience collaborating with professionals from diverse cultural and technical backgrounds, navigating complex stakeholder dynamics, resolving conflicts, and communicating technical and strategic priorities effectively. These experiences have equipped me to contribute constructively to board discussions, align organizational goals with community needs, and drive impactful initiatives as an OpenInfra board member.

  • Setting Strategic Direction: The Board is responsible for defining OpenInfra’s long-term strategic trajectory, ensuring the organization stays ahead of market trends and addresses emerging industry needs. This requires anticipating technological shifts, analyzing competitive dynamics, and developing actionable plans to guide OpenInfra’s growth while upholding its mission of advancing open source infrastructure.
  • Fostering Community Engagement: The Board plays a critical role in nurturing a vibrant, inclusive community. By understanding the needs and aspirations of contributors, users, and industry partners, the Board can ensure OpenInfra maintains strong ties to its community, prioritizes initiatives that drive value for members, and strengthens cohesion. A thriving community not only fuels innovation but also amplifies OpenInfra’s influence as a global open source leader.

China is accelerating the development of AI infrastructure, with China Telecom leading by example: in December 2025, we released the Cloud-Network Integration 2035 Technical White Paper, offering guidance for evolving cloud-network integration from an AI-driven paradigm to an AI-native architecture. Given this industry shift, the OpenInfra Foundation’s top priority should be to lead the development of AI-native technologies rooted in cloud-network integration. By aligning its roadmap with this trend—such as optimizing open source tools for AI workloads, fostering collaboration between cloud-network and AI communities, and establishing standards for AI-native infrastructure—OpenInfra can solidify its leadership position in a high-growth domain and drive the next wave of open source innovation.
