[Vancouver, Canada, May 18, 2015] UnitedStack, the most specialized OpenStack-based open source cloud company in China, announced that they were going to attend the OpenStack Summit in Vancouver from May 18 to 22.
At the No.74 booth of the Vancouver conference center, UnitedStack’s OpenStack experts will not only explain the delivery mode of cloud services provided by UnitedStack, which include public cloud, managed private cloud and hybrid cloud, but also several new services and features of OpenStack-based UOS which is a cloud service platform self-developed by UnitedStack. Cheng Hui, UnitedStack’s founder & CEO, is going to give a keynote, How to Extend OpenStack Business, at the OpenStack Summit.
At the OpenStack Summit in Vancouver, UnitedStack will give a presentation of their new cloud services for the global OpenStack developers and customers, which are as follows.
1．NAS file sharing service
UnitedStack NAS file sharing service is built on OpenStack Manila project, integrating the UOS unified storage technology. It means you can deploy a new file sharing service on your existing UOS environment without creating alone NAS hardware and software stack.
NAS service is designed specifically for the traditional enterprise-class data sharing scenario, which can meet the file sharing need within the enterprise and help customers to build a more powerful, stable and reliable NAS system in the cloud.
UnitedStack is one of the earliest providers who deploy NAS service in the public cloud production environment. At the AWS Summit in April 2015, AWS launched the EFS (Elastic File System), the NAS storage service in the cloud. Until that time, UnitedStack had run the NAS service in the UOS cloud platform for 2 months.
2. GRE 2L&3L tunnel support
As we know, tunnel is needed to connect various cloud platforms. UOS platform supports L2&L3 GRE tunnel service to help customers build the GRE tunnel service through the visualized graphic interface or API to connect various clouds needed by customers rapidly. This new service has been available on UOS platform in April 2015.
3. OpenVPN service
UOS platform supports a new service OpenVPN on May. 2015, which allows you to access the private network in the cloud data center with more security. OpenVPN is a SSL based encryption application layer VPN protocol supporting UDP and TCP. OpenVPN client can implement various route selections for different lines (such as the private network and public network) according to routing table. As a result, one part of IP can be through VPN, the other can be still through original network.
4. Workload Balance service
UnitedStack cloud platform UOS launched the Workload Balance service on Jan.2015. The workload balance service, which is based on TCP/IP, can improve the availability and scalability to avoid the unnecessary VM and human resource cost. You can’t concern the single point issue of workload balance any more because all operations will realize automation through API.
The new services mentioned above will be delivered to the customers of public cloud, managed private cloud and hybrid cloud through UOS, which is the first OpenStack-based high performance cloud platform in China with full functions.
UOS provides a full-functional, high security and easy-to-use cloud service platform with elastic instances, high performance distributed storage and VPC network. Based on the x86 hardware, UOS provides a extreme high performance cloud services, building or terminating a virtual instance in less than 10 seconds; 6000 IOPS and 170 MB/s bandbroad with IO Burst; throughput peak 10Gbps within the network.
