Ancestry.com in Production with OpenStack and Kubernetes

In Tokyo, we shared Ancestry's OpenStack, Docker and Kubernetes Journey. We have learned even more in the latest release cycle, and hope to share deeper details in a few areas where we have had success:

  • Developers using a mix of Swift API and AWS S3 API in their applications storing on Swift
  • Adding a filesystem gateway in front of Swift for apps needing POSIX and and high performance
  • Experiences continuing down the path with Kubernetes and OpenStack @ Ancestry

What can I expect to learn?

This session is for anyone using or considering using OpenStack. We hope attendees can learn from the experiences Ancestry.com has had thus far in our journey with OpenStack, and see how starting with one project made it feasible to continue building on additional projects.
