Jordan Nielsen is a Senior Soutions Architect for Ancestry.com. Ancestry.com LLC is the world’s largest online resource for family history with more than 2 million paying subscribers across all its sites. 

Responsible for architecting OpenStack and storage at Ancestry.com, having designed and deployed a large multi-petabyte OpenStack Swift cluster.  Migrated all of Ancestry.com's image data (billions of images) to OpenStack Swift and AWS S3. 

Currently architecting a large OpenStack Juno cluster running on CentOS 7.  Analyze all aspects of the existing infrastructure and recommend modifications that will enhance system reliability, availability, and scalability. Understand business requirements for internal groups and translate that into technical requirements.  Work on multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to deliverable deadlines.

Perform research and analysis on emerging cloud, compute, and storage technologies and determine the best solution for Ancestry.com. Strong understanding of technologies such as: SwiftStack, OpenStack Swift, OpenStack Cinder, OpenStack Keystone, OpenStack Neutron OpenStack Glance, OpenStack Nova, Linux, Python Scripting, Linux shell scripting, HP 3PAR InServ arrays, Hitachi enterprise and modular arrays, Brocade Fibre Channel switches, Isilon scale-out NAS, BlueArc NAS, Data Domain, and CommVault backup solutions.
