Telco operators can provide network service, MEC ability, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS and many other services on edge. Edge infrastructure layer is the cornerstone for all those services. Edge infrastructure is no longer the same as telco core infrastructure, which is few in the number of cloud and in the number of solutions. Edge cloud is open and diverse. The number of clouds, type of cloud and provider of cloud would be more than those of core cloud. How to manage many heterogeneous and multi-vendor edge clouds would be a problem that telco operators face on providing diverse clouds and services on edge.
In this session, we would introduce an idea on structure of edge cloud, several existing solutions for multiple and heterogeneous clouds, and some problems we face and experience we get when exploring solution for edge cloud management and centralized O&M.
Attendees could learn about structure of telco edge cloud, summary of popular edge cloud solutions, and some experiences and ideas on edge centralized management, which aiming at bringing in more edge cloud players into the telco edge ecosystem.
