Tungsten Fabric and OpenStack communities are working together to solve multi-vendor cloud-native use cases. In this talk, Sukhdev Kapur and Krzysztof Kajkowski will show a demo of the interworking, multi-vendor architecture based upon Tungsten Fabric and the OpenStack environment. The solution is based on OpenStack’s ML2 framework which allows multiple network layer 2 drivers to be used simultaneously. Because of this, it’s possible to use not only Tungsten Fabric but also any other ML2-based SDN driver at the same time. The demo will show the integration of Tungsten Fabric with SR-IOV to address low latency and high throughput requirements. The approach allows for centralized management and orchestration, reusing security policies.
OpenStack’s Tungsten Fabric monolithic plugin integration is widely used but it does not allow other SDNsto be connected at the same time. We will show how using open standards, one can configure and manage infrastructure in order to support various business cases such as:
- Support for inter-SDN connectivity
- SDN migration
- SR-IOV support
- Single pane of glass for management
