Ansible: Community, Collaboration, and the OpenStack Modules You Know and Love

Ansible is an open source project that makes automation simple -- and it just happens to be the #1 tool reported by users for deployment and configuration of OpenStack. Want to learn about how the OpenStack and Ansible communities collaborate to make this possible? Want to hear about the other ways Ansible’s 2600+ contributors have simplified automation for just about anything you can imagine? This session is for you. And if you’re thinking of using Ansible to *consume* an OpenStack cloud, or if you’ve heard about the legendary OpenStack Modules for Ansible and want to know more -- this session is for you, too!  And for anyone who wants to know the basics of what this “Ansible thing” they keep hearing of is all about.

Come to this session, and you can:

  • Find out what’s new in the Ansible project and community (hint: Containers! Kubernetes! Networking!)

  • Get a whirlwind tour of All Things Ansible-powered in the OpenStack community.

  • Learn how Ansible’s OpenStack modules, powered by the legendary Shade library, make consuming your cloud *easy*. Don’t know what a module is? Don’t worry, we’ll cover that too.

  • Discover how the Ansible and OpenStack communities work together in the development of Ansible’s OpenStack modules, and how you can help.

  • Ask that One Burning Question that Robyn knows you’re going to ask…

Also: there may be squirrels. (But don’t worry, they are awesome squirrels.)
