Project Update - Nova

Join the Project Team Leader of Nova and core contributors for a “project update” reflecting current developments in the Pike cycle and discussion of future development activity. 

We dig into major issues and user needs, and how those needs can be addressed in current and future development. We also discuss hot topics from the Project Teams Gathering, and major development decisions agreed by the team.

Get an in-depth look at the top features and enhancements Nova plans to deliver in the Pike release in August. Then look beyond Pike to the Queens and “R” releases to learn more about major development themes such as scalability, manageability, resiliency and user experience that the team intends to tackle in the long term. 

Developers who are interested in contributing to this project are strongly encouraged to attend, as are users and product managers who want to know more about this project’s latest features, their value to users, and the development team’s roadmap.

Jay is a Director of Engineering at Mirantis. He has been involved in the OpenStack project since its inception in 2010 as a member of the OpenStack Technical Committee, core contributor on the Nova project, and Project Technical Lead of the Glance project. Huawei, Principal Architect
Matt Riedemann works for Huawei in the cloud unit. He has been involved with OpenStack since the Grizzly release primarily doing upstream development. He was the Nova PTL for the Newton, Ocata, Pike and Queens releases and was the first stable branch maintenance team PTL. He continues to be active on the Nova and stable maintenance core teams. Dan works on Nova at Red Hat, and has been contributing to the Nova project since 2012. He has been working on virtualization for over ten years, with previous significant contributions to Xen, libvirt, and the libvirt CIM providers. FULL PROFILE
