OpenStack and OpenDaylight: Integrating OpenStack with an SDN Controller

Using an OpenDaylight-based SDN controller can provide increased flexibility and performance when constructing OpenStack clouds. In this hands-on workshop, you will create an OpenDaylight cluster and configure the cluster to provide Neutron services via the ML2 “opendaylight” plugin.  We will show how such a configuration can allow hardware and software switches to be used in concert to provide network services by using the OpenDaylight cluster to provide a single programmable way to configure and manage the switches.

Please note:  session attendance does have a maximum capacity.  All admittance will be on a first come, first served basis.  Thank you for your understanding.

What can I expect to learn?

Topics Covered

  1. Create an OpenStack infrastructure
  2. Create an OpenDaylight cluster to provide Neutron OpenStack services
  3. Demonstrate network and VM creation
  4. Discuss how an OpenDaylight configuation can improve L2, L3 and other advanced Neutron services
Monday, May 8, 4:40pm-6:10pm (8:40pm - 10:10pm UTC)
