Using an OpenDaylight-based SDN controller can provide increased flexibility and performance when constructing OpenStack clouds. In this hands-on workshop, you will create an OpenDaylight cluster and configure the cluster to provide Neutron services via the ML2 “opendaylight” plugin. We will show how such a configuration can allow hardware and software switches to be used in concert to provide network services by using the OpenDaylight cluster to provide a single programmable way to configure and manage the switches.
Please note: session attendance does have a maximum capacity. All admittance will be on a first come, first served basis. Thank you for your understanding.
Topics Covered
- Create an OpenStack infrastructure
- Create an OpenDaylight cluster to provide Neutron OpenStack services
- Demonstrate network and VM creation
- Discuss how an OpenDaylight configuation can improve L2, L3 and other advanced Neutron services
