Magic Wand Behind Large OpenStack and Virtual Network Functions (VNF) Orchestration - OpenECOMP

ECOMP (Enhanced Control, Orchestration, and Management & Policy) is the magic wand behind virtual network functions (VNF) Orchestration within AT&T on top of the largest distributed OpenStack cloud in the world (100+ locations) a.k.a AT&T Integrated Cloud (AIC). AT&T Opensourced ECOMP as OpenECOMP.

The combination of OpenStack and OpenECOMP is a powerful platform to deploy and manage large scale deployment of VNFs in large numbers across a global footprint of datacenters.

The OpenECOMP software platform delivers product/service independent capabilities for the design, creation and lifecycle management of the VNF.

OpenECOMP consists of several modules used to interact with OpenStack and the VNFs.

This talk will illustrate all the insight of OpenECOMP’s use in managing a large number of geographically diverse OpenStack instances.

What can I expect to learn?

Attendees will gain an insight into OpenECOMP and its interactions with OpenStack data centers to successfully support large scale VNF deployments.

Attendees will also will learn how to run OpenECOMP and OpenStack in support of large scale Telco grade cloud.

Demo of OpenECOMP and its interaction to OpenStack.
