OpenDaylight is an open source project under the Linux® Foundation with the goal of furthering the adoption and innovation of SDN. Red Hat is bundling a distribution of OpenDaylight as part of its Red Hat® OpenStack® Platform, featuring the OpenDaylight NetVirt application as an integrated back-end to OpenStack Neutron.
In this session, we will talk about the journey we have taken to productize OpenDaylight at Red Hat. We will cover:
- What is OpenDaylight
- Use cases for OpenDaylight with OpenStack
- The OpenDaylight NetVirt project
- How OpenDaylight interacts with OpenStack
- The Red Hat OpenStack Platform offering
- How we see OpenDaylight help solve challenges in the networking industry, such as container networking and physical network fabric management, the open source way
We will focus on networking technical and cultural challenges, and how OpenDaylight is uniquely architected to serve as the right foundational framework for SDN and network functions virtualization (NFV).
