Travis Newhouse is Chief Architect at AppFormix, where he leads design of the AppFormix distributed data platform that provides analytics and control of cloud infrastructure. Travis has over 15 years of experience developing Linux kernel and user-space software for high-performance network and distributed systems.

Prior to AppFormix, Travis was at Cisco systems working on the NX-OS kernel and platform. His work improved processor and memory performance of the core infrastructure services, reduced size of embedded Linux images, and migrated NX-OS to an updated kernel version. Travis joined Cisco by way of the NetSift acquisition. At NetSift, Travis was Lead Linux Kernel architect, responsible for platform performance and zero-copy networking stack of a multi-gigabit network appliance.
