FILE This: Swift API, Then S3 API, And Now POSIX Access to OpenStack Swift

OpenStack developers have had all they need in the Swift API to build new applications and store unstructured data in Swift. But what about classic apps that are not yet refactored? And maybe there are requirements to read from or move data between Swift and NAS storage.

SwiftStack has middleware for Amazon S3 API support, and is working on building support for POSIX interfaces directly into Swift. The Swift PTL, as well as the author of the O'Reilly publication "OpenStack Swift", lead this session and share the exciting developments that will broaden Swift's ability to support more application workloads and store more data.

What can I expect to learn?

This session is for anyone that has basic familiarity of Swift and has interest in learning more about how workloads that require file access can integrate with Swift without the need for a gateway.
