Contributions To OpenStack From Deutsche Telekom

Deutsche Telekom was one of the first large european companies publicly supporting the OpenStack project.

The visible engagement started with the launch of the TelekomCloud BusinessMarketplace in 2012.

Today a number of engineers from Deutsche Telekom enhance OpenStack by contributing to projects around networking, testing and storage.

Products & Services

Deutsche Telekom leverages OpenStack in a number of areas; two public offerings deserve highlighting:

TelekomCloud BusinessMarketplace (a SaaS offering primarily targeted at European SMBs) uses OpenStack at its backbone and was launched in summer 2012.

T-Systems has launched a public cloud based on OpenStack in march 2016: Open Telekom Cloud. This is built on top of Huawei's FusionSphere OpenStack distribution and is installed in German datacenters and run by T-Systems European Operations staff.
