All you need to know about OpenStack Block Storage in less than an hour

Whether you are a new or an old OpenStack deployment, there is always this good old problem of making your choice of storage for your openstack workloads. OpenStack itself provides Block and Object Storage to choose from and once this decision is made, an Admin has to choose from various storage backends like LVM, Ceph, etc.

In this session, we will take a plunge into the world of Cinder and talk about various flexibilities and features provided to the user by Cinder itself and what factors user must consider before choosing a convenient backend for their storage based on the needs of their OpenStack environment. We will touch base upon the various developments that have happened over time and what Cinder looks like today. We will also talk about why it is important to have the correct storage backend for your OpenStack environment and what all one should research over it.
