The banking industry is transforming their IT infrastructure to support new Smart Payment business model. It is a challenging task to provide an edge infrastructure to meet stringent security requirements. In this talk, we will present a secured edge infrastructure, powered by StarlingX, for a contactless payment use case at the edge.
We will discuss the StarlingX architecture and how to apply security hardening features on the underlying OpenStack and Kubernetes platform. We will describe the architecture with support of both VM and container resources for the edge payment service application including face recognition, car license plate detection, payment, etc. We will talk about the Smart Payment requirements and share our reference implementation for such use case. We will elaborate capabilities such as resource management, security isolation, and more.
