Use cases for the new vitrage RCA UI

The new option of using React in Horizon plugins brings up new and exciting opportunities. It's time to refactor the Vitrage UI so it best suits various real-life use cases.In this session we would like to focus on the use cases that will become the baseline for the new UI design. We will hold an open discussion and will be happy to hearmore use cases and ideas from the audience. 
Some discussion topics:

  • What information is the most beneficial in Vitrage? what would you like to see first, mabye as a dashboard?
  • What information is currently missing in Vitrage?
  • What are you most important use cases?
  • Does Vitrage RCA capabilities help you solve problems more quickly?
  • Do Vitrage deduced alarms help you identify problems more quickly?
  • Does the integration of Vitrage and Mistral help you with auto-healing scenarios?
  • For each use case, which UI menus provide the most meaningful information?
  • What should be the future of Vitrage entity graph? can it be made more usable? how?

Ifat Afek is a System Architect in Nokia CloudBand, and the PTL of the Vitrage project - OpenStack RCA service for organizing, analyzing and visualizing OpenStack Alarms and Events. In her role, she has lead the Vitrage effort from day one towards its acceptance into the Big Tent six months later.
