Is troubleshooting OpenvSwitch and its flows a nightmare? Lets make it simple.

Network troubleshooting can be challenging. A network issue may cause problems at any point in the cloud either just related to Networking or any other issue, the first thing that rings a bell is it related to Networking.

The OpenStack Neutron supports Linux Bridge, OpenvSwitch plugins.

Today OpenStack also provides services such as Firewall based on OpenvSwitch. Apart from this the following implementations are also dependent on OpenvSwitch such as CVR, DVR, OVN, Dragonflow etc.,

Debugging OpenvSwitch has always been an issue for non experts. In a highly scalable environment there would be hundreds and thousands of flow rules under each bridge and tracking an issue with the OVS will be complex.

This session will help to ease the debugging and will provide tips to troubleshoot for an end to end connectivity.

What can I expect to learn?

Debugging OpenvSwitch has always been an issue for non experts. In a highly scalable environment there would be hundreds and thousands of flow rules under each bridge and tracking an issue with the OVS will be complex.

This session will be very usefull since we will be providing a hands on lab that would provide you an openstack environment to debug OVS and get familiarized with the environment and common issues.

This session will walk you through control plane setup and dataplane for the traffic flow from VM to the cloud and from the cloud to the VM.
