Red Hat virtual central office solution (VCO) is a central office-based software-defined infrastructure platform from which Telecommunications service providers can deliver multiple end-user services such as mobile broadband and voice over LTE (VoLTE), as well as support network split and network slicing which is critical to the deployment of next generation of mobile networks. As Telecommunications service providers look to deploy 5G over the next 5 years, they will necessarily have to deploy virtualized, or software-defined infrastructure to accommodate the associated workloads.
