With the evolution of FaaS in cloud computing, the application deployment has greatly been eased. FaaS is the concept of serverless architecture which allows developers to execute an individual function in milliseconds without building out or maintaining a complex infrastructure.
With all the fancy things FaaS provides developers today, there come security concerns with it. Infrastructure providers today need to offer scalable secure functions. They are trying to run these functions in some sort of containers. Again we all know about the security issues with Docker containers. To fix these issues, we are trying to run FaaS with Kata Containers. Kata Containers provides both security of VM and speed of containers.
In this talk, we will introduce FaaS and Kata Containers. We will also talk about the issues running FaaS on Docker containers and then explain how we are using to fix those issues.
