VPP and fd.io Downstream Distro Integration and Packaging

Fd.io and VPP has become the leading full featured fast user space data plane for NFV. As fd.io evolves, release packaging and availability of VPP in downstream distros becomes a major consideration for usability. In this talk, Mr. Herbert discusses VPP and DPDK for Centos and other RPM based distros. DPDK is also used in other data planes such as OVS. He presents successes and challenges with VPP and DPDK packaging, including crypto dev, vHost user and other features.
