Future of Cloud Networking and Policy Automation

When building and operating dynamic hyperscale cloud networks, two of the biggest requirements is agility, and simplicity in terms of (a) how the networking / security policies are defined in simple and extensible format (b) how the policies are seamlessly applied across different heterogenous environments and (c) how the environment dynamically adapts and adjusts itself to meet the ever-changing workload demands. Unfortunately, today’s networks are quite the opposite - often programmed using complex policy language which remain quite static and require quite a bit of human intervention. In this panel we discuss how networking is evolving in clouds (such as those enabled by OpenStack), and explore techniques, architectures and use cases for intent-driven networking capabilities and policy automation in clouds networking.
