Wow, I Finally Understand Neutron: A Hands-On Workshop about Neutron Networking

We know Neutron is super powerful but were lost when trying to use it? In this hands-on workshop, participants will take a fun, and educational journey through Neutron and how it relates to real-world networking basics. Each participant will gain hands-on Neutron experience by receiving credentials to a live OpenStack environment! By the end of this hands-on workshop, participants will not only know how to create networks, subnets, routers, floating ips, and security groups, but truly understand the important actions taking place behind the scenes that make all of it a reality! No prior OpenStack experience is necessary!

Please note:  session attendance does have a maximum capacity.  All admittance will be on a first come, first served basis.  Thank you for your understanding.

What can I expect to learn?

Attendees will first learn about the history of software defined networking and the origin of the Neutron project. A cohesive review of the OSI model and linux networking tools/features will lay the foundation for how Neutron provides powerful multi-tenant isolation . Each Participant will then gain hands-on Neutron experience by accessing a live OpenStack environment where they will learn how to create networks, subnets, routers, floating ips, and security groups! By the end of this workshop, attendees will not only walk away with the knowledge on how to operate Neutron, but the confidence to engage with others about the project!
