Director of SDN Planning and Implementation
Chris Emmons is Director of software defined network [SDN] planning and implementation for Verizon. His team is responsible for SDN and NFV strategy for both the wireless and wireline networks.
Before being named to his current position, Emmons was the Director of Operations for Verizon’s Wireless Network Support Systems. In that role, he was responsible for data center operations and applications support for the portfolio of tools used to configure, monitor, engineer and grow the world class Verizon Wireless network.
Emmons is an experienced professional with 20 years in the telecommunications industry. He joined Verizon in 2003 and has held leadership roles in Wireless National Network Operations, Maintenance Engineering, and Network Support Systems.
Emmons holds an Executive Master’s degree in Technology Management from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
