Bio

Andre Fredette is the Technical Director for Networking in the Red Hat Office of Technology. He helps set the direction for SDN for Red Hat and leads a team of engineers contributing to open source projects. He is a contributor to the OpenDaylight and OPNFV projects. Prior to joining Red Hat, Andre held senior engineering and management positions with Extreme Networks, Bay Networks, Nortel Networks and the IBM Networking Hardware Division. He has also held leadership positions in the ATM Forum, and authored numerous contributions and RFCs in the IETF and IEEE. He holds the Doctor of Philosophy and Master of Science degrees in Computer Science from North Carolina State University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
