 Dr Vasileios Baousis  joined  European Centre for Medium Weather Forecasts(ECWMF) in 2010 as network applications developer responsible for designing and developing software for HPC Meteorological Time Critical Applications, dissemination of meteorological data and user remote access and job submission to ECMWF HPCF.  Vasileios, currently is responsible for the deployment, maintenance and support of the ECMWF’s cloud computing infrastructure, member of the community cloud named “European Weather Cloud”. His current interests are in distributed computing and efficient resource allocation, cloud computing and cloud security. He has authored more than 10 journal, conference publications and book chapters in the area of distributed and mobile computing and has contributed to a number EU funded projects.
