Mark Interrante is responsible for Cloud Business Unit’s R&D organization. He leads the teams that develop and deliver software for Helion OpenStack, the Developer Platform, CloudSystem, and the Managed Cloud. He has been deeply involved in OpenStack from the beginning and is passionate about open source software, particularly its potential to build communities that can change the world.

Mark brings over 20 years of product development experience with internet companies ranging from start-ups to global Fortune 500. He has built teams and grown organizations to over 900 people. He has managed portfolios, associated roadmaps, along with development and operations for products spanning cloud, consumer, B2B, SaaS, IaaS, infrastructure, and dedicated/hardware. He has led teams that have built and launched innovative products in new categories ranging from ecommerce, web analytics, social networking, media, and CRM.

Prior to joining HP, Mark served as SVP of Products and Engineering at Rackspace, where he led the product organization and put OpenStack into production. Before that he was the GM of Yahoo Media. He has held technology roles at HP (Printers, Test & Measurement, HP Shopping), Deloitte Consulting, and Texas Instruments (AI and Robotics). Mark has also held leadership roles in three startups: Spoke Software, Public Mind, and Enviz.

Mark graduated with a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Texas, Dallas, an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of North Texas, and a Masters Eng. in Software Engineering from the University of Florida.
