Ting Zou currently serves as the head of Cloud Architecture at Inspur Group, China, which is the world wide No.3 server vendor and one of biggest Chinese players in Cloud Computing and Big Data area. 

Before that, Ting Zou was the CTO and Deputy GM of Mirantis Greater China, where he helped Mirantis grow its OpenStack/MOS business from zero to million dollars business within two years. He also set up a sizeable openstack architecture team and service team locally and delivered several OpenStack projects with hundreds of nodes wfor customers such as ShenZhen Stock Exchange, Bailian e-commence group, China mobile etc. Under his leadship, Mirantis China engineering team has achieved among one of Top 10 code contribution in OpenStack releases in China. Ting Zou is also a freaquent speaker at OpenStack summit where he delivered several talks in Tokyo 2016 and HongKong 2013. Ting talked with nearly hundreds of OpenStack customers and really understands the pain points of OpenStack adoption in the Enterprise large scale environments.

Ting Zou has worked in engineering and product management areas for several IT companies such as VCE, Juniper and Cisco for more than 16 years.

What is your relationship to OpenStack, and why is its success important to you? What would you say is your biggest contribution to OpenStack's success to date?


Ting Zou has involved in OpenStack ever since early 2013 when he worked as the director of cloud at Huawei Technology, where he initiated the cloud strategy based on OpenStack and drive the initiative internally with great effort. Frank also help the OpenStack adoption in China during his Mirantis China journey and helped several customer built public/private cloud based on OpenStack such as ShenZhen Stock Exchange, Bailian Retailer Group, China Mobile etc.


Describe your experience with other non profits or serving as a board member. How does your experience prepare you for the role of a board member?


Ting Zou has beed in product management and strategic planning area for several large companies, where he internally drives several open source software initiatve such as OpenStack, Kunerbetes, Cloud Foundry, Spark etc and acts as the champion and internal advocacy for opensource technology.


What do you see as the Board's role in OpenStack's success?


OpenStack sucess has to be driven along with passionate vendors as well as passionate individual commmunity members. The borad of OpenStack shall align the benifit well for both vendors and community development, which will lead the healthy development of OpenStack and its success.


What do you think the top priority of the Board should be over the next year?


The board shall put more consideration into the true adoption of OpenStack technology in respectful areas, integration with other open source technology and balanced development of communities in different georgraphic areas.
