Bio

Rod is the Global Service Line Component Owner for middleware software support services at GTS Strategic Outsourcing Delivery, an IBM business unit.  Middleware is the most important tier for breaking-through technologies as Cloud computing and Business Analytics Optimization. Rod is responsible for driving consistency and integrity on middleware software support service globally. Also, he owns the innovation and competitiveness of this service element worldwide.

 

Prior to his current stretched assignment, Rod was a Systems Support Manager for Web and Messaging Integration middleware support services on the same business unit.  He was responsible for leading a team with more than 60 people in Brazil in support of 20+ global delivery and domestic clients. He has worked at IBM for over 8 years and received the Best of IBM award in 2012 for the Technical Maturity Model (TMM) framework publication.

 

Prior to joining IBM, Rod was a middleware consultant for several Brazilian banks and financial companies, and contributed to the Brazilian Payment System Reform from Brazil Central Bank, which is one of the most advanced electronic clearing house system nowadays that uses IBM middleware to integrate banks to clearing houses. Rod has an engineer degree in Computer Engineering from UNICAMP and an MBA with Project Management emphasis degree from FGV.
