OSISM

We are looking for a Software Engineer in Germany to support us in the further development of Kolla, Kolla-Ansible and Kayobe.

With OSISM we are working on the baselayer for the Sovereign Cloud Stack, which implements the foundation for Gaia-X in the future.

We expect that you:

  • have good knowledge of Ansible, Docker (better said containers in general), and Python (previous knowledge of Kolla, Kolla-Ansible and Kayobe is not necessary, but a plus)
  • have hands-on experience with open source operating systems, virtualization, and OpenStack, as well as standard tools to do configuration management and monitoring tools
  • are familiar with cloud workloads on top of IaaS platforms
  • are used to work in the open, exposing your work in progress to a broad community, accepting criticism and willing to work on defining and refining the chosen approach in interaction with the community, building (lazy) consensus
  • are familiar with open source development tools and platforms such as Gerrit, Git, GitHub and the related workflows
  • have experience in using agile development methodologies

We offer:

  • working in an open and inspiring environment, interacting with highly-skilled and driven individuals from our company, customers, partners and the relevant open-source communities
  • being a key part at a long existing open source project
  • working on cutting-edge open source infrastructure technology
  • a lot of flexibility in how you organise your work and contribute to the nationally distributed team
  • getting visibility by presenting the company and the open source project to customers, partners, and to the public on technology conferences or in professional articles
  • an adequate compensation package and active development of your skills
  • work from the home office (we are trying to meet regularly in Germany at nice places for joint workshops after the pandemic)
