Job Description

VMware Telco & Edge Cloud Business Unit is looking for a highly motivated software engineer to join the team that is building a purpose-built telco platform, from core to the edge to address the needs of Telecommunications Services Providers and xNF (CNFs and VNFs) vendors. This software engineer will participate in many innovative projects, with the authority and scope to apply your expertise in a fast paced and technically driven environment. You'll be part of a bright engineering team that has an open communication, empowerment, innovation, teamwork and customer success culture.


  • Deliver telco grade VMware Integrated OpenStack product
  • Lead the overall test efforts of VMware Integrated OpenStack
  • Enhance product quality by enforcing latest CI/CD system


  • Deep understanding of Kubernetes, Docker and OpenStack

  • Strong coding skills in Python, with emphasis on writing modular, scalable code.

  • Capable of building environment with complicated software stack

  • Experience working with open source or a similar cloud infrastructure platform is desirable.

  • Communication skills for a highly collaborative software development process.

Desired Skills:

  • Solid knowledge on networking, containers, Docker and Kubernetes

  • Experience with and interesting in Open Source software communities like Kubernetes and OpenStack

  • Experience with Git and GitOps is a strong plus.

  • Experience with VMware products like vCenter, ESXi, NSX-T is a strong plus.

  • Work experience on telco industry is a plus

  • Good verbal communication, analytical skill and critical thinking. Responsibilities:

  • Ability to influence others and build consensus using good written and verbal communication skills and customer facing skills

  • Developing visioning skills and ability to see the big picture

  • Communicate with all stakeholders and team members and provide updates perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required


A Computer Science or related undergraduate and/or master's degree is required. Any other demonstrated high technology aptitude is desired.
