Lauren\u00a0has been instrumental in the growth of Openstack from the beginning. \u00a0Under her leadership the Summits have grown from just 75 attendees to over 4,000, and the\u00a0OpenStack brand has gone from zero to Wall Street Journal in record time. \u00a0Since we started the Foundation 2 years ago, she\u2019s built out a high performing marketing and\u00a0community services team, including recent additions <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/amprice88\">Allison Price<\/a>\u00a0,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/sharimarii\">Shari Mahrdt<\/a>\u00a0, and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hogepodge\">Chris Hoge.<\/a>\u00a0When not taking OpenStack to new heights Lauren is know to spoil her cat Rhiley.<\/p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.openstack.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/rh.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"283\" height=\"272\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6575\" src=\"http:\/\/www.openstack.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/rh.png\" alt=\"Rhiley\" \/><\/a>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">I\u2019m also happy to report that we\u2019ve continued to expand the OpenStack team over the past several weeks. \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/tcarrez\">Thierry Carrez<\/a>, who has managed the OpenStack releases\u00a0from the beginning has taken on the role of Director of Engineering, and is building out a team of technical leaders. \u00a0One of his first hires was Clark Boylan, who joins us\u00a0as an infrastructure engineer along with Jeremy Stanley and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/smaffulli\">Stefano Maffulli<\/a>. \u00a0Thierry is a strong leader in the OpenStack community, who was once again voted in as a member of the Technical Committee and their chairman!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.openstack.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/tctc.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"281\" height=\"323\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6577\" src=\"http:\/\/www.openstack.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/tctc.png\" alt=\"Thierry Carrez\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.openstack.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/tctc.png 281w, https:\/\/www.openstack.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/tctc-261x300.png 261w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 281px) 100vw, 281px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">We continue to hire in support of the growth of OpenStack. \u00a0Be sure to check out our <a href=\"http:\/\/www.openstack.org\/community\/jobs\/?foundation=1\">open positions<\/a> if you\u2019d like to join our team!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">If you&#8217;re coming to Paris, I hope you have a good time with OpenStack, don&#8217;t forget to say hello to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.openstack.org\/foundation\/staff\/\">whole Foundation team<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Mark Collier<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">COO, OpenStack Foundation<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/sparkycollier\">@sparkycollier<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019m very excited to report that on Monday the Board of Directors approved the promotion of Lauren Sell to Vice President of Marketing and Community Services.
