Towards support for cross version upgrades and in Openstack
One of the major challenges facing Openstack administrators is the ability to upgrade Openstack versions. In this talk, we will touch upon the associated dependencies and walk through an approach we have developed to facilitate seamless upgrades and migrations across different Openstack versions using a 'push button' approach.
David has been working on enterprise systems for over 12 years. He started at Oceanwide USA (now Descartes Systems Group) developing the messaging system used by importers to report their merchandise to US Costumes and Borders Patrol. He then worked at IBM for 9 years taking on multiple projects ranging from Enterprise Messaging Integration, to Smart Business introduction, to Cloud and Virtualization Solutions. He now works for Persistent Systems Inc. as a Solutions Architect focused on Cloud and Openstack. David has been active in Openstack Community since Grizzly. He lead the team that inserted the powervm driver in Nova virt based on power IVM technology. He worked on cinder driver to support fiber channel connections to SAN. He worked on DB2 support on glance and other compnonets. He also worked on a few patches to better synch nova DB with compute nodes actual state. David latest work includes design and implementations of Hybrid clouds with OpenStack as a cornerstone of the designs.
Aditya is currently working as a Project Leader in the Cloud Practice at Persistent Systems Ltd. Presently, he is leading multiple initiatives around developing point solutions for OpenStack and other platforms. Prior, to joining Persistent Systems, Aditya worked as a member of staff in the Cloud Computing Research Group at IBM Research, and worked as a Cloud Architect for IBM's Global Cloud Center of Excellence. At IBM, his major contribution was towards co-inventing a novel method for rapid pre-provisioning of virtual servers in a cloud environment. He has also helped many customers transition to IBM's public cloud. His primary interests are around research in Cloud computing and developing product strategies for startups and enterprises.
Sandeep is currently working as a Project Leader in the Cloud Practice at Persistent Systems Ltd. Currently he is leading some initiatives around openstack platform. Sandeep's current work focuses on openstack deployment solutions & networking, His primary interests are around SDN & networking. Prior, to joining Persistent Systems, Sandeep worked as a member of staff in the storage group at netapp, At netapp, his major contribution was towards ontap storage appliances[NAS], his worked in some file system protocol[cifs,nfs,iscsi] enhancements which gets heavily used with storage products. Sandeep latest work includes design and implementations of SDN/NFV use cases with Openstack
