VANCOUVER, British Columbia, May 19, 2015— During a keynote session at the OpenStack Summit 2015, Jonathan Bryce, executive director of the OpenStack Foundation, announced the list of companies around the world that have initially passed OpenStack Powered interoperability testing of OpenStack Foundation, including IBM, Rackspace, Mirantis, VMware and others. UnitedStack, the OpenStack-based open source cloud computing company in China is the only one Chinese company that has passed a passel of interoperability tests. It means that the public cloud, hosted private cloud and hybrid cloud of UnitedStack have become platforms banded as “OpenStack Powered” certified by OpenStack Foundation.
Community members with products or services that have passed OpenStack Powered interoperability testing are: Blue Box Cloud, Bright Computing, DataCentred, HP, IBM, Internap, Mirantis, Rackspace, Red Hat, SUSE, SwiftStack, Ubuntu, UnitedStack, Vexxhost, VMware.
“Interoperability of OpenStack attracted controversy for a long time. The certification from OpenStack Foundation now is the best approach to solute this issue. For end users, when they choose the certified cloud providers, they can remove their workload across various cloud services. For cloud providers, official certification can drive them to develop and work together under the OpenStack standards, and prompt the development of OpenStack to be more better, ” said UnitedStack founder and CEO Chen Hui.
Another announcement, unveiled at the OpenStack Summit, claimed that 32 leading OpenStack cloud providers including UnitedStack had committed to the solutions launched by the end of 2015 to support the federated identity of the new features added in OpenStack Kilo release. The federated identity will give users seamless experiences in the hybrid cloud or multi-clouds scenario.
