Catch the Exclusive Preview of the State of DBaaS Survey Results

There’s no denying the popularity of Database as a Service in the public cloud. When it was launched in 2012, Amazon’s NoSQL DBaaS offering, DynamoDB quickly became the fastest growing service in the history of AWS. That then remained true until this year when they reported that their data warehousing service, Redshift had eclipsed DynamoDB as their fastest growing service. And of course we can’t forget the biggest DBaaS business on Amazon, RDS, which Forrester Research reported was in use by a whopping 45% of AWS customers.

The exciting thing is that some early survey data seems to indicate that, as well as Amazon has done in rolling out database services on AWS, the impact of DBaaS in OpenStack may be even greater with many users preferring to keep their sensitive data inside their own data centers while still delivering an on-demand experience to their development users that compares to what they would get on a public cloud.

To explore this trend, Tesora has teamed up with 451 Research to poll enterprises on their current and planned use of DBaaS technologies, including use cases, expected benefits, plans for implementation, and challenges for adoption. The full report will be published in the fall, but we’ll be sharing some of the early results at the upcoming OpenStack Trove Day in San Jose. If you’re anywhere near Silicon Valley on August 25th, (or can get there,) you should definitely join us to learn more!
