David previously worked for HP where he helped drive HP Public Cloud's adoption of Horizon as the user interface for internal administration and end users. He has directly contributed to the development, packaging, deployment and support of a large public cloud running OpenStack.
I'm involved in the following OpenStack projects: Horizon
I am currently serving my third term as the Horizon PTL. I have been a developer and deployer of OpenStack services. Continued adoption and progress of Openstack is important for providing a common open cloud software solution. My greatest contribution to OpenStack is guiding Horizon through a period of tremendous growth and helping evolve Horizon to be a viable user interface for a wide range of OpenStack deployments.
This would be my first experience serving on a non profit board. I look forward to the opportunity to represent the OpenStack community members and OpenStack
The Board's role is providing an atmosphere where developers, deployers and operators can work together to deliver on the promise of open cloud software while supporting an ecosystem that meets the needs of both commercial and private entities.
The Board's top priority should be supporting growth of a broad ecosystem around OpenStack. In order to accomplish this OpenStack needs to refine the core of OpenStack and deliver on the promise of interoperability.
