Improving cloud security and increasing competition in cloud computing
I lead CSC Cybersecurity's Applied Research group. We establish system integration security standards for CSC's clouds and are part of the innovation process for CSC Cybersecurity offerings.
My background is that of a system integrator. I received my bachelor's degree in Computer Science from William and Mary and have graduate studies towards my Masters in Computer Science as well. I have been supporting, implementing, and extending office automation and infrastructure networks since 1988, and can claim hands on experience with Unix, Linux, Netware, Windows variants. I have deployed at least fifteen SANs, and have been involved with the information security for thousands of servers and hundreds of thousands of end user's systems.
In 1999 I raised a hand that provided inputs to the SANS GIAC curriculum, and became a contributor and served as an editor for all the GIAC curriculum for two years. My work with CSC required greater involvement and leadership and has been my primary work focus for a decade, where I have been the planner and manager for several mega sized programs.
My clients require a span of information assurance and my solutions have to recognize the risk, reward and investments in time and resources need to sustain mission and profitability. Balancing information security with all of the above while managing teams that successfully implement our client's goals is my primary work emphasis.
I have or have held certifications from Novell, Microsoft and maintain my CISSP. My interests include gaming, fast cars, guitar, family and church.
