Tsugikazu SHIBATA is working for OSS promotion Center of NEC. He is activiley working for the Linux over 10 years and for OpenStack for two years. He is having a senior role of Open Source conference such as LinuxCon and CloudOpen to advocate join and work for the Open Source community especially for Japanese and Asian developers. He is also member of the board of the Linux Foundation since 2006. His role of the Linux Foundation is to expand ecosystem of using and adopting Linux for Japan and Asian countries. He is also a technical committee member of the Open Invention Network (OIN) as a representative of NEC. His activity of solving IP issue of the Open Source will becoming very important even for OpenStack and surrounding ecosystem.

By these background, he has an advisory role of OpenStack development team in NEC and the team is actively contributing OpenStack development community with five of core developers.  He is also leading a Open source development project called LTSI (Long Term Support Initiative) that is to keep Linux Kernel stable as longer term for industry. This is a Linux activity but even for OpenStack, Every industry people hope to use more stable and longer term useable OpenStack.
