Brian Stevens joined Red Hat's senior management team in 2001 and has been critical to the company's enterprise operating system, storage, and virtualization strategies. As CTO and Vice President, Worldwide Engineering, Stevens has responsibility for Red Hat engineering globally, encompassing Linux, virtualization, middleware, and cloud. Stevens began his career at Digital Equipment Corporation, where he was a developer on the first commercial release of the X Windows System. During his 14 years at Digital, he became a senior member of technical staff, where he was responsible for the architecture and development of the UNIX and clustering product lines. Stevens earned a master's degree in Computer Systems from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of New Hampshire.
