Statement of Interest

I am interested in participating in the design and implementation of OpenStack.

Bio

My Information Technology background is based on 20+ years of experience in the UNIX and embedded systems field in the American and European markets. I originally started in the scientific and high performance numerical computing arena in 1991, where I remained for several years working mostly on IBM 9076 SP2s. More recently, I have been working in medium to large data center environments where I have been specializing in C/C++, Shell programming, OpenGL, Ruby and APEX programming. My programming experience is mostly on UNIX/AIX, SE Linux and OSX systems. I have experienced with NI LabView as well as NI LabWindows. My desire is to work in the field of Digital Avionics and embedded systems design. I most recently co-authored a paper on Optical Wireless Communications demonstrating ARINC 429 data-flows. The paper was presented at the 2012 IEEE DASC conference in Williamsburg, VA. 

I am currently an Associate Director for Cloud Capabilities responsible for all Cloud Computing development at Coca-Cola Enterprises, Inc. in Atlanta.  

In my current position as a technical manager for Coca-Cola Enterprises, I have conducted training sessions for fellow employees and written several white papers as well as architecture-strategy and road-map papers. During my current employment I had the chance to innovate and perform hands-on implementation of several new solutions on platforms such as AIX, Linux, The Rackspace Cloud, Amazon AWS (EC2 and S3), Microsoft LDAP/PKI and a variety of WebSphere and SAP products on over 500+ systems. I stay actively engaged in project innovation, project leadership as well as code development and day-to-day operations. 

Along with my many years in the UNIX engineering and operations field I also have a solid background in embedded C/C++ programming, electronic circuit design and especially flight simulation.
