We are looking for technical talent, specifically a seasoned Tools Architect to help drive our next generation data center archival cloud efforts. Our goal is to create an IaaS archival offering that sets the standard for low cost, high availability, high reliability, high performance and ease of data center integration. The EVault IaaS Team, led by Mikey Butler , VP of R&D is seeking a Tools Architect to build the core infrastructure of large scale archival cloud storage solutions. This OpenStack infrastructure enables our clients to store petabytes of data, unparalleled in the industry as we push the envelope of next generation storage systems.
A key part of EVault’s technical strategy is building proprietary internal tools for the visualization, analysis, and debug and verification of tests and applications on various functional and performance simulations of storage systems. Our vision is that these tools will be used by hundreds of engineers worldwide. In this key infrastructure role, you will play a critical part in every stage of development of an archival storage system. Working closely with a small, start-up oriented team to specify systems, create schedules, and manage ongoing feedback and enhancement releases.
What you will be doing:
Define and maintain the entire development chain tool infrastructure
Interface with platform teams adopting EVault Archival products, providing guidance on both technical and product integration approach
Develop and review implementation plans in collaboration with design and test teams
Always be on top of the technical aspects of the project: provide full visibility, highlight issues, manage risks, and proactively look for solutions; clearly articulate options and tradeoffs and be able to make tough, pragmatic decisions
What a successful candidate will bring to the role:
7 to 10 years of experience in software development, tools development, and tool chains
Strong background in build environments and release management including Linux makefile tools and frameworks (Make, autotools, Cmake, others, Jenkins, Code Coverage, Unit Test frameworks, others)
Strong background in git, git branches, repositories (CVS, Subversion,etc.)
Service-oriented attitude with an eye for efficiency and workflow
Able to work in a collaborative team environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously
Expert in Linux shell programming, python/perl or other scripting languages
Programming background in C/C++, Java
Excellent written, communication, and presentation skills
BS in Computer Science highly preferred or equivalent work experience
